Lucia Yacht Charter Summary Information
St. Lucia's trade winds offer sailors steady 10 – 20 knot winds. During the summer months winds will be 10 – 20 knots from the northeast, while the winter months will have 15 – 20 knots from the east. The trade winds are consistent making calm, breezeless days rare. North Atlantic storms occur during the winter months, creating swells which may make passages between St. Lucia and neighboring Martinique and St. Vincent difficult. If staying on the island, distance between ports is no more than 20 nautical miles. Many charterers decide to combine this trip with a stay in Martinique which is over 20 nautical miles away from St. Lucia or St. Vincent which is over 30 nautical miles away.
